Whew – we made it to another Friday! Whoo!

I’ve been a bad blogger this week, but a very productive bride! That counts for something, right? Still no shoes, but at least my two biggest worries (the invites and the website) are all behind me. This weekend I’m heading to the salon to get my trial-hair done, so definitely watch for me on twitter – I’m sure I’ll post some pictures!

I had every intention of blogging an update on Wedensday, but wasn’t feeling up to it. This week it really hit me that my mother won’t be there. She’s been gone for 14 years now, and most people like me will tell you – it becomes normal after that long. As odd as it sounds, it’s a normal feeling for me to not have her here at this point. Then there comes a day, every now and then, where it really sinks in. My mind wispers “seriously, just think about this. your mother. will not be there.” Even after all these years, it’ll take the breath out of my throat, fill my eyes with tears and completely wreck me for an hour or two. Then, it’s back to life.

My scale also broke this week, so I think the universe is telling me to chill out a bit! Not on the eating right/exercising front … but just my stress levels. It’ll be so nice to get away for the weekend. I’m staying with my best friend (and matron of honor!) who I don’t get to see a lot. It’s going to do wonders for my soul :)

So, in the introspective mood I am, I thought I’d share some things I find inspiring lately. All of these are from my Pinterest boards (I know, I know, I’m obsessed. Don’t judge.) Some are good for my physical health, some my mental, and some … just make me smile! Enjoy!

It makes me laugh every single time. Some days you just gotta lay on your lillypad and say f*ck it ;)

I can completely relate to the parent not being there. For me my mother not being there wasn’t what got me so much (she’s been gone 20 years) but my father not being there. He passed away 4 months before the wedding and I had been hoping he’d be around to roll me down the aisle. I had their rings in my bouquet as a simple way of having them with me that day.

Thank you so much for your comment, Roxanna.

I can’t imagine how difficult that must have been for you – to have both parents absent on your wedding day. I think the way you honored them was perfect and beautiful. I’m planning to have my bouquet will be wrapped in lace from my mother’s wedding dress.
