Happy Hump Day!

I can’t be the only one that snickers like a 13 year old everytime I hear “hump day,” right? ;) Normally I would be looking exactly like the man in that picture at my work desk. Today I have the pleasure of staying HOME until Friday! (Although not as fun as it sounds … read on, haha. )

One of the many ways I try to keep myself accountable every month is by tracking with Robbie’s (FatGirlvsWorld) Go The Distance assignments. (Here’s the November link if you’d like to check it out!) The long and short of it : anyone (yes, you too!) can sign up at any time on the public spreadsheet. You set yourself two health-realted goals and track your progress everyday. I’ll be the first to admit that my favorite part is coloring my spreadsheet.

Just look how pretty it is!

(ooooo, ahhhhhh!)

Anyways … where was I. Yes, the monthly sheet. SO, at the top center, Robbie has us list our last doctors appointments / when our future visists are planned. Oh lordy, mine looks drab. I can’t remember the last time I had a physical, (maybe high school?) and prior to last month, I hadn’t seen a dentist in 2 years. Maybe not that big of deal to some … but for me and my 4 wisdom teeth, it’s been a painful couple of years.

It’s only been within the last few years that I’ve realized how important keeping up with medical appointments really is. I’ve been seriously slacking in some areas (coughtherapydentistphysicalcough) and I made a vow to myself this month that I would start taking care of business!

Todays’ task?

Bye bye, wisdom teeth.

I told Handsome Hubby to bring a video camera. I fully expect to be a YouTube sensation by this evening. I’m looking at you, David :

(click through your reader if you can’t see the hysterical video!)

Here’s to Vicodin and ice cream! Calories don’t count when you’re recovering from surgery, right? Right. ;)

You know… I put the doctor bit on there first as a reminder to myself to go, but also as a reminder that this is about HEALTH not just about weightloss.  What good is all of the work if we’re not taking care of our whole self?
