I really like this picture of me. I took in in my car two days ago, when I officially joined my neighborhood gym. Despite the crappy phone quality, and the fact that I cut off half of my face, it perfectly shows how happy I was (and how happy I am).

I’ve had this feeling lately that I’m right where I belong on my health journey. I’m seeing doctors, in therapy, regularly working out (and challenging myself with those workouts!) and buying/eating wholesome foods 90% of the time. That’s a pretty good life, right? :) Obviously I still get frustrated when I don’t see the scale move down, but right now … that’s okay. I’m doing everything I can to have a long and healthy life!

In honor of reaching 222 fans FRIENDS on the Fit and Free with Emily Facebook page today, (woo! love y’all!) I just wanted to hit the pause button for a bit. Take a moment to focus in on the little (and not so little!) things that I’m thankful for at this point in my weight loss story. 22 things, so that when I’m feeling a little lost I can come back to this post and reflect on the good stuff! I was gonna shoot for 222 … but that seemed a little lofty ;)

22 “Right Where I Belong” Signs
(certainly not in ranking order)
1. My family is eating healthy – and loving it.
2. I enjoy and look forward to exercising (woah)
3. I’ve started running again
4. I can feel my muscles getting stronger
5. I can SEE my definition in my quads (post soon!)
6. Last binge: over a month ago
7. I’ve lost at least 30inches from my body! (as of june 2011)
8. I feel confident
9. I feel strong
10. I feel HAPPY :D
11. Being actively in therapy – on the road to recovery!
12. I’m willing to do whatever it takes
13. Active in group classes, from Zumba to Spin to Yoga!
14. My endurance is building every day
15. I have more energy to spend chasing after my daughter
16. I’m setting the best example for her!
17. More fearless with every challenge faced
18. I’m in BOOTCAMP for christ’s sake! Never would have done that 3 yrs ago
19. Times I’ve had fast food in the past 6 months: once. seriously.
20. My favorite food is currently broccoli (I know!)
21. On any given day you see (read with) me, I am stronger than the day before. That rocks :)
22. I have an amazing support system through this blog. My readers (YOU!) are honestly the most supportive and inspiring group of people ever. Even just by stopping by and reading you show my love. For that I’m so grateful!

 

Thanks for being #22 on this list, and the #1 reason I continue to blog. I’ve got a long ways to go, but I’m definitely where I belong. That’s a pretty awesome feeling.
