Celebrating Life

Even though we knew it might happen, even though it seemed inevitable, it still hurts. On Thursday, April 5th, my father-in-law passed away. He put up a good fight – much better than anyone could have hoped. Adam, Harper and I are back with his family getting ready for the funeral on Tuesday. It’s a hard time, but not weighed down by death. We’re choosing to laugh. To tell funny stories, sift through old photographs, and simply live life. Celebrating the time he had with us and the time we all still have with each other. I’m grateful for the moments I spent with him, and the short time Harper was able to know him. Thank you all for the support that you’ve sent over the past several weeks. Life does, and will, go on. Rest in peace, Dan. Be sure to tell my mama “hello.”

I’ll be back with you all soon.

Much Love,

– Emily
