I have a treat for you today!!

I talk a lot on this blog about getting healthy (duh). My whole purpose in creating Fit and Free with Emily was to share my story about trying to lose weight and create a fearless life through revolutionary self-love. Sounds pretty daunting, right?

It’s definitely a challenging task, and the hardest part (for me) is the mind-struggle. The little voice that triggers binges and self-loathing. I want to be free of my insecurities and self-shaming practices. Don’t you?

A few weeks ago, a reader named Nicole (from Nicole Kellerma.com) reached out to me after reading my post, Thoughts on Body Hating and a Call to Action.

She gets it.
She gets that this battle is about LOVE, not hatred. Love for our bodies, no matter what our goals are! When she offered to share some exercises with you all that include positive body affirmations, I jumped at the chance to have her here!

Please show her some love today, she’s fighting the good fight! :)

Isn’t that awesome? I have to admit. Saying (okay, let’s be real, even THINKING) positive affirmations about my body puts me totally out of my comfot zone. But I suppose that’s the point. I didn’t get where I am today (as in, obese and with an eating disorder) by showing love. That has to stop now!

Seriously, I have so much respect for people who combine self-love/respect with getting fit. That’s what it should be about, right? I can’t wait to try out those moves (consider them PINNED, Nichole!) the next time I’m making excises. 10 minutes at home? Yeah, I can sacrifice that ;)

Here’s to a happier and more love-filled workout!

PS – - If you feel so inclinded, hit up Nichole on Facebook or Twitter and let her know you saw her guest post! This was my first time letting a guest poster here, and I want to make sure we give some positive feedback. Thanks, friends! :)

This is awesome!! I never thought about trying to think positively about myself while doing exercises. I’m usually just thinking “when is this going to be over!?” ;) Thanks for posting this, Emily! and thanks, Nichole!
