Welcome new readers from Arthlete’s blog! I hope you stick around and love on me a little. Appropriately, of course. Click around and find out more about myself and Fit and Free with Emily!

I desperately want to be one of those people that can pull off a oversized, flowy, off-the-shoulder, hippie-chick kind of look. Realistically … this does not work for me. Since I’m already pretty *cough*oversized*cough* ( ;) ) it just winds up looking like a tent.

Point and case, my newest Gwynnie Bee arrival.

Here’s what it looked like. If you have any small children in the room, you may want to shelter them from this monstrosity.

 OH NOs !!!

Don’t even get me started on the side view. I refuse to post it. It’s that bad. I basically looked like a shapeless blob. I was totally bummed.

UNTIL

I remembered what classy people do. They wear belts. And by some sort of belted magic, this happened!

Holy Moly, it worked! I couldn’t believe what a huge difference one little belt could make! I loved the coral/navy color combo. It was funky and fun to wear and SUPER comfortable. The fabric was a silk material, and although it wrinkled like crazy, it was perfect for a warm September afternoon.

Note to self: buy more belts. They do good things. :)

I was practically jumping off the walls when I put on this next shirt, since I’ve been lusting to buy it since basically the dawn of time. So basically a month. Hey, when you want need something … one month is forever. ;) Despite my awkward posing and lighting, it’s a lot more flattering in person.

The colors were so vibrant! Adam really liked this one, I’m suspect because of the neckline. At first I tried it on with out a black undershirt. Woah. Not work appropriate. ;) I’m so happy I was able to wear this top. Even though I loved it, it’s not something I could wear super frequently at work. And when it retails for $60 … and hopefully I’ll be going down in sizes … investing money in expensive pieces just doesn’t make sense to me right now! Thank goodness for Gwynnie Bee, so I don’t have to worry about that anymore!

Don’t forget! Gwynnie Bee is offering Fit and Free with Emily readers a special deal! If you sign up for any subscription package before October 15th, and mention this site, you receive an extra piece for FREE! Click here for the invitation-only special. More details and my review in this post.

So there we have it! Another exciting peek into my budding fashion sense. It’s coming along, right? I’ve had a few people comment to me in the past week that I’ve been looking nicer and thinner. I’m not really losing weight, so I’m giving props to the clothes on that one! And the confidence that comes along with dressing better than whatever I can find at the thrift store. :)

I hope you all had a great week! Mine was insanely busy at work. I might actually talk a bit about that in a future post or vlog, since a few of you have asked what I do for my full-time job. Spoiler alert, I’m not a high fashion model. (see proof above) Shocking, I know. ;)

I LOVE that second top. I almost always wear vneck style shirts because i like how they look, so yes, super cute! I haven’t put together an order yet, but that will definitely be one!

Thank you! That top also comes in a teal/blue version that’s crazy cute! I’m excited for you to try it out – be sure to let me know what you think, once you get an order! :)

For me, the look that I’m dying to pull off is the giant chunky sweater over leggings. You look amazing, keep up the good work!

Ohhhh, good call! I would love to wear something like that. Thanks for the love, Katie! :)

LOVE that 2nd top on you!

I understand what you said about not wanting to buy new clothes. The only thing new coming in is gym clothes here. Lately that’s about all I wear anyway!

Thank you, I really liked it! I’m definitely the same way. When I’m not at work, it’s gym clothes or pjs …. which are sometimes just other gym clothes. haha ;)

I’m going to have to invest in some belts!! What a huge difference and how flattering! I love the 2nd top, too! I’m all about open necklines. Looking good, my friend!! ;)

I love your solution! Side note, my sister large but she decided that size small and medium fit her when flowy shirts became a thing. As in they were fitted on her. I tried to tell her otherwise …
