I just posted this over on the FF/E Facebook Page, but it’s hitting so spot-on today, that I had to come over here and share it with you all. Here’s what I wrote:

I needed to hear this (and share this) today. Don’t settle. Apply for the job, sign up for the class, confront your doubts, get off the couch, take the first step, make the big move.

Believe that you deserve the best. If you don’t really believe it, you’ll never get it.

Do you ever read or see something, and it’s a total punch in your gut? That’s what this did for me today, and I’m hoping for a lot of you. You know, when I talk to my friends about their struggles (with anything, not just weight loss) I have a very low tolerance for weakness. For settling.

For example: Hate your job? Make every effort to educate yourself and get out of it. Your friend is talking behind your back? Stop being friends with them. You never have any money? Make a budget and actually stick with it. Your husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/brother/step-sister treats you like crap? GET RID OF THEM.

While that all sounds really harsh – believe me, I know it does – it’s often what needs to happen. You can’t live you best life when you refuse to make any changes. I’ve come a long way in some areas, but not in others. If I want my best life possible I need to eat right. I need to move more. I need to show myself more love. Plain and simple. The execution? Much harder.

Someone asked me the other day, what prompted me to start my weight loss journey. I was exhausted from hating my life. And until I truly believed it, I pretended that I was worth a better one. I still work on that daily.

I am worth it, and so are you. If we’re not moving ahead in life, it’s because we’ve chosen to stand still. It’s a tough but true reality.

Where in your life have you settled?

Here’s to another day of taking steps forward.

Great post, I needed to hear that today. Sometimes I need to be kicked in the pants.

I think we all need that from time to time! :)

Thanks for posting this! I needed to hear it. I feel like I have settled in EVERY aspect of my life today, but that could just be PMS. Inertia is hard to beat, but at least we can find comfort in the inertia of motion. Starting from a dead stop is hard, but once we are moving and changing, it is equally hard to stop.

Believe me, I totally get it. I feel like that myself, where every option seems SO hard. I love what you wrote … “once we are moving and changing, it is equally hard to stop.” < – PERFECTION. :)

I know you’ve probably heard this a million times, but I’m just going to say it because I’ve experienced it for myself: losing weight is 90 per cent what you eat and 10 per cent exercise. I struggled so much with my weight (and actually ended up gaining weight) when I was constantly putting pressure on myself to exercise. Then, when I instead cut out all sugar (refined) and started eating all whole fruits and vegetables, the weight just began to drop off. Now I exercise for fun because I have enough energy to do so.
Anyway good luck =) For me, cutting out sugar is the only way to go. :) (For instance I still eat brown rice and occasionally rice pasta, but not processed wheat pasta). I also don’t miss it because my taste buds have adjusted & now I find fresh & frozen fruit to be SUPER sweet.
